Geophysical Monitoring System (GMS)
Cross Czech a.s. in cooperation with G-Impuls Praha s.r.o. developed a new technology for homogeneity monitoring of water regulating constructions and monitoring of existing non-homogenous zones in time. Technology is currently implemented to prpactice in the frame of sevral selected catchments in Czech Republic under project E!3658 „GEMSTONE “ funded from Eureka programme. This technology is designed for quick survey of the condition of water constructions, definition of embankment zones where ruptures can be expected in case of extreme hydrological events and control of finished water constructions (quality of ground bashing).
GMS is based on the use of geophysical method dipole electromagnetic profiling (multi-frequency electromagnetic analysis of geological environment with GEM 2 – apparatus made by GEOPHEX, USA) and combination of quick and diagnostic testing of embankments, followed by detailed monitoring of geophysical characteristics of selected segments.
